When You Need the Best Criminal Lawyer in Singapore

Singapore has one of the lowest crime rates in the world and this can be attributed to the strict laws we have in our jurisdiction.

However, there are many miscellaneous crimes which you may be unaware of. These miscellaneous offences fall under the Public Order and Nuisance Act and they include:

Drunkenness in Public Places
Any individual found intoxicated and unable to take care of himself in a public area, public roads, places of interests, the immediate vicinity of any courts, places of worship or police station etc, is liable to a fine of up to S$1,000 or imprisonment for not more than a month. For compounding or subsequent sentences, it is advisable for one to obtain legal advice from a Singapore criminal lawyer.

Soliciting in Public Places
Anyone who solicits or loiters in public areas for any immoral purpose, such as prostitution, may be liable to a fine of up to S$1,000 and in subsequent convictions, a fine of up to S$2,000 or imprisonment of up to six months of both. An individual who is charged or sentenced should seek legal advice from a criminal lawyer to determine how he can best help you in order to get charges or sentence reduced.

Touting
A person who solicits business persistently in any public area may be fined for an amount of S$1,000 to S$5,000 or imprisonment of up to 6 months or both. This includes soliciting business for himself or for another person. Subsequent convictions will result in a fine of S$2,000 to S$10,000 or imprisonment of up to one year or both.

Threatening, abusing or insulting a public servant.
Using any indecent, threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a public servant in the course of his duty is an offence. It is also an offence to distribute or display any writing, signs or visible representation which is indecent towards a public servant. Any person convicted under this offence will be liable to a fine not exceeding S$5,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year.

  2. Can criminal lawyer in Singapore help tier 2 sex offender?

There are around three levels of sex offenders, and each group comes with a different type of severity. The state doesn't treat all crimes equally. If you are convicted under a tier 2 sex offender, then there are some restrictions you need to follow depending on the nature of the crime as per singapore criminal lawyer.
Under level 2 classification, the courts tend to think that someone has a likelihood of re-offending. It is mainly determined by the crime's nature and the preliminary charges of the person. Just like level 1 the level 2 is likely to be revoked after some time. Additionally, if you have level 2 classification, then you need to report to the sheriff's department at least four times a year. The restrictions tend to depend on the crime you have committed as per criminal lawyers Singapore.
